Nick McEvily

Founder, Principal

Nick holds a B.Sc in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University and developed an expertise in Urban Agriculture during his time as a Grad student, writing his Thesis on Rooftop Integrated Greenhouses. He quickly realized there was an under addressed market in the urban ag sector and began agrowculture in January of 2011. With a background in sustainable building design and management, Nick has built agrowculture from the ground up and he looks forward to laying the foundation to a career in food-focused entrepreneurship.
 

 

Matthew Schmohl

Business Development

Matt graduated from Cornell Engineering with a degree in Operations Research (Applied Mathematics), during which he also partook in sustainable engineering courses. Matt has spent the last two years as a management consultant, designing customer analytics solutions (infrastructure, algorithms, business processes, and GTM strategy) for Fortune 100 companies including Verizon Telecom. Matt utilizes his skills to develop agrowculture’s business and market strategies.
 

 

John Monastero

Community Relations

John has been working in the digital space for almost 2 years. Shortly after receiving his B.Sc. from Stonybrook University, John began working at a world renowned full-service Marketing and Advertising agency. Over the years he has developed skills in social media, digital publicity and strategic marketing. John leverages his contacts with journalists, bloggers and content providers to further agrowculture’s reputation online and develop relationships with urban community organizations.
 

 

Zach Gould

Energy Systems Engineer

Zach has researched, written on and worked with renewable energy technologies ranging from piezo-electric ceramics and sculptural wind turbines to conductive ink and thin-film solar cells. He was involved with the Vibro-Wind Power research group, which created a prototype that was featured in the New York Times Magazine’s 2010 Year in Ideas as a breakthrough invention in renewable energy generation. He is responsible for the technical development of urban energy systems and hydroponic greenhouse technologies here at agrowculture.
